Kate -
The inevitable has happened, one of us has got runny tummy and its not me! Poor Rowan, we were stopping every 20 mins for him to run into the bush and now he is super pissed off because he is not able to partake in his favourite activity- eating.
To back track a bit --
We said goodbye to Praiwan, the lady we had been staying with who, like many thais, could not believe we would wish to do so much excercise. She looked at Rowan sternly and said "you look after her!" The ride to Uttaradit was short but with a good climb half way. Uttaradit is a pretty uninspiring transit town so we found ourself a niceish place to stay and gorged on english movies for the night.
We set off early for Sukhothai and it soon became apparant that Rowan was as sick as a dog. The ride took us most of the day because we had to keep stopping. The road was dead flat, which suprisingly on a tandem is hell. On a tandem you cannot peddle out of the seat to relieve your aching bottom because it wobbles all over the place. At least when you are going uphill you are pushing so hard with your legs that you dont notice the pain of your bottom and then you get the down and you can give it a rest. On the flat it is constant medium peddling which equals a tough time for the booty = ouch!!!
Rowan is getting better now. He has been sleeping, the fever has gone and he is full of electrolites. Tomorrow we are going to see the ancient ruins of Sukhothai. We shall give you an update of tomorrows adventures. x
